Speaking as someone getting over a cold/flu, here is a brief PSA that I wish everyone I have interacted with over the past month or so had seen:
http://www.coughsafe.com/media.html

And, for those who are already sick, I have found this article to be true:
http://www.consumerreports.org/mg/free-highlights/manage-your-health/cough.htm

What PSAs do you have? What do you wish everyone else knew? Post in your own journal. I am curious.

Ah! I'd been trying to figure out what the anti-histamine thing was, because sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn't. No Benadryl for me (I'm allergic to it (yes, I know)), but I'm going to get some chlorpheniramine for sleeping at night :).

I take 12 hour pseudoephedrine twice a day until I can breath. My throat problems are almost always from post-nasal drip. If I don't do this, my cough lasts from November to May.

A new thing I found and love this year are strips that are like those breath freshener strips but have cough stuff on them. When I am sick in the middle of the night I get this dry spot deep down in my throat and nothing helps, not water or anything. It hurts and causes me to cough wildly in the middle of the night which really disrupts my sleep. So I find these grape flavored (yummy) Triaminic Thin Strips. It melts down my throat, relieves my dry patch and lets me drift back to sleep. If I had a cough drop instead I would worry about swallowing and choking on it. But no worries with a thin strip. A great invention!
