abilouiseI've been reading the business book "Marketing without Advertising", and really enjoying it in spite of its cover.
One of the exercises in it is to take an index card, on the front of it write down your contact info, operating hours and fees, like so:

WHAT I DO
MUSCULAR THERAPY is a fusion of general relaxation and specific techniques. Each massage is a customized treatment specific to your needs.
SPORTS MASSAGE promotes flexibility and strength and reduces soreness & injury.
MYOFASCIAL RELEASE is done without oil on the skin, manually freeing connective tissue adhesions, which reduces scars and improves range of motion.
PREGNANCY MASSAGE is for women throughout the childbearing year. It provides relaxation, reduced pain & soreness and an easier birth.
This was hard, but important and interesting. I realized how little I explain what I do to other people, and how out of practice I am at it. Anyway, the exercise says to make 20 copies of your index card and hand it out to friends. Since I hardly ever see most of your in person, I'm posting it here, and will also be handing out paper copies. The idea is not so much "now please go out and sell me to other people kthanx" but just "here's what I do all day, for whatever value of "interesting" this is to you. feel free to share this information with other people as you see fit."
